How to price commercial cleaning
Walk the site, agree a written specification, time the routine, price per visit from your hourly rate, then convert to a monthly figure based on visits across the whole year.
A worked example
An office wants an evening clean three times a week, taking 1.5 hours a visit. At £27 an hour that's £40.50 a visit. Three visits a week for 52 weeks is 156 visits, or £6,318 a year: £526.50 a month.
Before you sign
- Exact specification: areas, tasks, frequency.
- Who supplies consumables such as bin liners and soap.
- Price review date and notice period.
- Payment terms.
Commercial clients will often ask for insurance certificates, risk assessments and COSHH assessments first. See winning commercial contracts.
