Do you need a licence to start a cleaning business?
There's no general licence needed to run a domestic or commercial cleaning business in the UK. But several legal duties apply from day one, and more once you employ anyone.
Instead of a licence, check you've covered: tax registration, chemical safety (COSHH), data protection and the ICO fee, consumer cancellation rights, and insurance. Specialist work in particular settings may have extra requirements, so check GOV.UK and your local council before taking it on.

The methods on this page are the book's own, not legal rules.
